She was born on 5th of August 1987 in Mumbai Maharashtra, India. Her father Neil D Souza is the most senior officer in the consultancy firm known as Tata Consultancy Services while mother Jeanette D Souza has been Managing Director (MD) in Pharma Multinational Corporation but for the betterment of her daughter’s career she left the job. The nick name of Genelia is Geenu. She got early school education from Apostolic Carmel High School located in Bandra and earned graduate degree in the field of business from St. Andrew’s College. Nigel D Souza is the younger brother of Genelia who works in Bombay Stock Exchange. During the period of college education she has been playing some sports games such as sprinter and football moreover she was excellent athlete.
She was interesting in acting even in her early age and that was the reason her mother resigned from job to back her daughter to concentrate on acting. The early career of Genelia starts with modeling at the age of only 15 when she had to done a modeling assignment. Thereafter she worked with one of the all-time great actor Amitabh Bachchan in a commercial for the promotion of Parker Pen. Initially she refused for shooting because exams were going to be held just after two days of shooting, however on the advice of her mother she accepted the challenge. The performance was been excellent in first commercial therefore after that she worked for Cricket World Cup 2003 advertisement with Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
She got offer to work in film Tujhe Meri Kasam but she was not agreed to work but the director of film has been made contacts with her for two months consecutively and finally she got ready for film. Remembered she was selected after auditioned and there were about 300 girls participated in audition. So the film releases but her work has been not upto the mark in other words the debut the Bollywood film Industry has not been exceptional for her therefore she decided to work with South Indian Films (SIF) and the first film of SIF was released in which her performance has been excellent. Afterword the second Bollywood film Masti releases and once again her work was really good. As soon as she starts work with Telugu movies in 2006 she has started to become popular. The romantic & comedy film happy and Raam were the turning point of her professional career these films business of US$4.2 million India and due to her excellent performance she won the award of Golden Nandi. After that she worked in many Telugu films such as Chenndai Kadhal, Dhee, Mr. Medhavim Satya, In Love and Santhosh Subramaniam
After so much success at Telugu film industry she returned back to Bollywood film Industry and appeared in Mere Baap Pehle App and once again this film failed at box office however she was continued to work with Bollywood despite of several failures but Jaane Tu…. Ya Jaane Na has been exceptional and earned good fame at box office and as well as in the eyes of public. There are many films of Genelia and she also has won many awards as well.
She has been found deep as far as concerned to religion and while giving interview to “The Times of India” she said that she thinks that God has been really kind to her. According the media Genelia has been dating with Ritesh Deshmukh, they met during the shooting of Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 and they were also really to engage but due to interruption and rejection of their families this relation breaks but they were meeting continuously and finally they got married on 3rd of February 2012.

My relationship with photography began at a young age, i've used cameras for as long as i can remember, it started out as a way of capturing and composing ideas for my paintings using traditional media (Oil & Watercolour landscapes) and as inspirations for my graphic design ideas. Slowly over the years, it grew on me as an art form in its own right, i loved the immediacy and energy of the medium, and it was a series of shots taken on my travels in Peru that I first felt were interesting enough to stand on their own to be viewed as 'Art'.
After travelling the world extensively, I settled on the Island in the 90's, immersing myself in the wild and beautiful coastline of the west wight. It's the meeting of land and sea along that coast, and the activity that flourishes in the small places between them, that provides my daily inspiration. The ever changing weather and light creates endless creative possibilities for land & seascapes, as well as being the setting for my love affair with surfing. It was always my favourite subject with paint & brushes and now its my favourite place with camera & surfboard."

History of iStockphoto
In 2000, Bruce Livingstone was on the brink of going into the traditional stock photography business, but was having problems marketing against a world of me-too competitors. He had boxes of CD-ROMs full of thousands of images ready to ship. At the last moment, he was seized with the belief that the old way of distributing images just wasn't going to work anymore. Maybe he just didn't want to lick that many stamps. Whatever the reason, he put all the images online for free, interested to see the reaction. He called it iStockphoto. Web designers loved it and downloaded as many pictures as they could. Some of them had digital cameras and started uploading images of their own. When the monthly bandwidth bills topped $10,000, Bruce polled the growing iStock community to find out if people would support paying for images.
In 2002, iStock began selling credits. Now you could get a high-quality image for under a dollar, and the artist who contributed it got paid a royalty. It was an entirely new way of doing things. Some people called it the birth of 'microstock'. We just call it iStock.
iStockphoto sowed the seeds for an entire industry, with millions of files, millions of members and tens of thousands of contributing artists, sending us photographs, illustrations, videos, sounds effects and more. But the basic idea remains the same: anyone, anywhere can join us for free, find the digital media they need and sell original content of their own. It was truly the democratization of the stock industry.
